Planning Center offers a suite of cloud-based software products for church management designed to help churches save time and focus on their ministry. Products include: Calendar, Check-Ins, Giving, Groups, People, Registrations, Services, Music Stand, and Church Center.
Calendar (formerly Resources) is the Planning Center application that handles event management and room scheduling. By adding Events2HVAC, churches using Calendar can automatically control heating and cooling (HVAC) in their buildings based on room schedules!
Using Calendar and Events2HVAC together eliminates the need to manually schedule HVAC for events outside of normal church hours and saves energy by not running HVAC in empty rooms.
How Events2HVAC Saves Energy, Time and Money
Events2HVAC pulls room schedules from event-management systems and lines up the next 24-hours of schedules for each room or zone. It adds pre-start and post-stop times (if desired) to ensure that rooms will be comfortable when events begin. Then it sends commands to HVAC controls to automatically control heating and cooling for each individual event or meeting.
Automatically returning HVAC equipment to unoccupied settings between events cuts energy use 20-40% or 0.50 – 0.75 cents/sqft/year at most facilities.
Facility managers typically save 2-10 hours/week because they don’t need to enter exception schedules in the building automation system or networked thermostats for after-hours events.
