Churches have spoken, and we have taken action.
To help churches achieve their goals to cut energy and labor expenses, we have developed a new Events2HVAC event provider for ShelbyNext, SimpleChurch CRM, and FellowshipOne GO church management systems. Churches using these systems can now take advantage of event automation and significantly reduce their energy expenses.
Events2HVAC is a software solution that acts as a bridge between a church management system and the HVAC system. It pulls room schedules from the church management system, queues up 24 hours of commands for HVAC equipment, and sends out “occupied” and “unoccupied” commands to each piece of equipment at the appropriate times. Pre-start and post-stop times set in the software for each piece of equipment ensure that rooms are always comfortable when church members and guests arrive, yet energy is not wasted by needlessly heating and cooling empty rooms.
Events2HVAC users who have tracked energy and/or labor savings as a result of using the software have reported 100% return on investment in 6 months to 1 year. Results will vary based on how HVAC is currently scheduled at each church, room occupancy rates, local energy rates, etc. (See case studies.)
With the addition of the new event provider for ShelbyNext, SimpleChurch CRM, and FellowshipOne GO, Events2HVAC is now compatible with 11 different room scheduling systems:
Dean Evans, Inc.
Asure Software, Inc.
Shelby System, Inc.
Events2HVAC can send commands to many different types of HVAC systems – and some security systems too.
One good option for churches that do not have a building automation system is Network Thermostats’ line of thermostats. With several different types of thermostats available, they offer solutions that will fit almost any situation and budget.
Events2HVAC has a device interface for systems that are BACnet/IP enabled from major manufacturers such as Alerton, Automated Logic, Carrier, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Tridium, Trane, and more. We have security interfaces for Johnson Controls P2000 and Kantech EntraPass, which was also developed at the request of one of our church customers.
Another option we recently added with churches in mind is pre-loaded hardware. Because some churches lack IT support, they may become stalled during the implementation process. But we can configure a micro-pc or server that fits the church's needs, pre-load Events2HVAC and prerequisite software, ship the hardware to the church, and support them remotely to get their systems connected.
We are working hard to expand the capabilities of Events2HVAC, and we thank our church customers for helping us determine the best ways to help them meet their goals.
