Proliphix Network Thermostat Interface

Proliphix Network Thermostat Interface

Minimize

(NOTE:  The NT series product has been discontinued by Proliphix)

Overview

The Proliphix device interface allows the Events2HVAC system to control your existing Proliphix networked thermostats in your building to match your buildings event/room reservation system schedules.

The user can add a group of Proliphix IP Network Thermostats to the program, associate them with equipment and rooms, and then by scheduling events in the event system, can issue actions to write to properties of the thermostat and set the thermostat to “Occupied” or “Unoccupied” modes.

Available Actions

SetOccupied

(Event Triggers:  Event Start, Setup Start, Teardown Start)

The SetOccupied action is used to set the Proliphix Thermostat in a state corresponding to the room being occupied with more comfortable HVAC settings.  The thermostat’s Setback State is set to HOLD, the HVAC mode can either be set to AUTO, HEAT or COOL.  The corresponding Setback heating and cooling setpoints also must be set.

SetUnoccupied

(Event Triggers:  Event Stop, Teardown Stop, Setup Stop)

The SetUnoccupied action is to return the room to an unoccupied state with energy saving conditions.  The Setback State can be set to NORMAL, HOLD, or OFF.  The HVAC mode can either be set to AUTO, HEAT or COOL.  The corresponding setback setpoints also must be set.  If NORMAL is chosen, the setpoints do not have to be set; the values from the current scheduled period are used.

Note:  It is recommended that the HOLD or OFF mode be used to maintain the unoccupied state for maximum energy savings.  Setting the mode to NORMAL will set the thermostat to the current scheduled temperature setpoints and may not provide the necessary energy savings.

OccupiedUnoccupied

(Event Triggers:  Event Start/Stop, Event Setup/Teardown)

The OccupiedUnoccupied action is a dual action to set the Proliphix thermostat in an occupied state at event start or setup and then set the Proliphix thermostat back in the unoccupied status at event stop or teardown.

See the SetOccupied and SetUnoccupied actions for further descriptions of each.

WriteProperty

(Event Triggers: Event Start, Setup Start, Teardown Start, Event Stop, Teardown Stop, Setup Stop)

The WriteProperty action is a generic action used to set any of the supported writeable objects on the Proliphix thermostat. A list of writeable properties is provided in the program for the selected thermostat.

The WriteProperty action is used to provide custom commands during events instead of using the standard SetOccupied, SetUnoccupied, or OccupiedUnoccupied actions.

System Requirements

The Proliphix IP Network interface was written using the Proliphix API v1.11.  Any devices from Proliphix that use a different API may or may not work correctly with Events2HVAC.

Supported Proliphix IP Network Models (at the time of this writing):
